Pilates CD – Make Any Room Your Own Pilates Class!

You will always find ways to incorporate exercise in your lifestyle if you want to. There are so many ways to do it without spending a fortune. You can take advantage of the great outdoors and go for a walk, run, or swim.

If you’re extremely busy or you don’t have the budget to enroll in a fitness class, you can still enjoy the benefits of exercise in the comfort of your own home by following a Pilates CD.

Investing in a Pilates CD is a good way of keeping fit when money and time are two of your biggest concerns. All you need is a television set and a DVD player or a laptop. You probably already have these items at home. Of course, don’t forget your mat or towel.

Also, keep in mind that not all Pilates CD workouts are universally created. This means that you have to take time to watch the previews and reviews of a Pilates CD that catches your interest. Pilates video workouts are divided according to levels.

There are 3 general levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Some programs even have sub-divisions for those 3 general levels. It’s best to be really specific the levels, especially if it’s your first time to get into Pilates. Some video programs that are labeled “For Beginners” could be meant for people who are still doing the beginners program but are about to transition to the intermediate level.

The Pilates CD of your choice must feature a certified instructor with a lot of experience. You may be tempted to get a Pilates CD that features your favorite celebrity but by all means, assess if the celebrity actually has the credentials to demonstrate and explain the movements. At the very least, the celebrity must be assisted by an experienced professional instructor.

If the Pilates CD is not divided according to specific sub-levels, the instructor should present alternative or modified moves to the main exercise. A good instructor is considerate to all students by including modifications for the beginners and the advanced students.

For example, the beginners with knee problems can keep their knees bent when performing the Hundred mat exercise. For those who want more challenge, they can lower their legs. The instructor should be able to present two alternatives like these for the exercises.

Finally, the Pilates CD should include a warm-up and a cool-down. You will be doing the exercises in your house so injury should be a no-no.
